IN its bid to bridge the health disparity in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Team Unity Government yesterday (Feb.24) officially signed an agreement with the University of the West Indies, and also launched the National Health Insurance Implementation Commission.
The Commission will undertake a number of studies to return with the best fit for a National Health Insurance Scheme.While addressing a large gathering at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, CARICOM’s lead on Health and the Federation’s Prime Minister, Dr. Timothy Harris said the occasion is a landmark achievement for the nation.
Highlighting that it is further advancing St. Kitts and Nevis’ stellar leadership in healthcare delivery. “Significantly, my administration’s historic, unprecedented move to open doors to universal health insurance coverage will close the life expectancy gap between the poor and the middle and upper classes. Our national health insurance will help our people.
