June 6th, 2017 — On Saturday May 20, 2017, family, friends and well wishers journeyed from far and near to share in the 90th birthday celebration of Mrs. Lucille Tyson, affectionately known as “Auntie.”
For nine decades, this humble woman successfully raised 11 children and two adopted children, cared for numerous grandchildren, and in essence has been the designated Matriarch in her beloved family, all while being a caring and loving wife and extending a hand of friendship and generosity to her neighbors.
The celebration of appreciation for Mrs. Tyson’s life was marked by a Birthday BBQ gathering with family and friends who engaged in conversation with Mrs. Tyson, as well as moments of reminiscing about the good old days. The celebration was also an opportunity for family members residing abroad to unite with their loved ones in celebration of Mrs. Tyson’s special day.
The following afternoon, Sunday May 21st, 2017, celebrants worshipped with the Tyson family and friends to pray God’s continued blessings on the life of Mrs. Tyson, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, loved ones and care providers.
Reverend Dr. Benjamin Browne officiated at the celebratory service. In attendance was the Honorable Eugene Hamilton, Parliamentary Representative for the area, as well as Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ian Queeley and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Terrance James.
