One in custody for guns, cocaine and marijuana find

A man, said to have residences in Newtown and Greenlands, is currently in police custody after the vehicle in which he was late yesterday afternoon (Aug. 5) had allegedly contained a quantity of cocaine.

According to a police communiqué, discovery of the “ready-for-sale cocaine” (29 dime bags) was made by members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force during a Stop and Search Operation in the Southeast Peninsula and one man was detained.Subsequently, members of the Special Services Unit and the Anti-Drug Unit had executed search warrants on properties in Newtown and Greenlands.
At the Newtown property, the officers reportedly discovered a large quantity of marijuana and a search of the property in Greenlands resulted in the find of a large quantity of cocaine and two illegal firearms with ammunition.One of the firearms is said to be a Smith and Wesson .40 pistol and the other a .380 pistol.
