Beach volleyballers crash out of Commonwealth Games

THE federation’s athletes competing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia again found it tough down under.
The team’s best performance came in a 10.24s sixth place finish by Jason Rogers in the finals of the men’s 100m.Rogers had a quick start to the race but faded coming to the end, losing out to Akani Simbine of South Africa, who took the Gold Medal in 10.03s.
Race favourite, Jamaica’s Yohan Blake took third, with South Africa’s Henricho Bruintjies occupying the second spot.On the sand, the local volleyballers again recorded another defeat this time losing to Fiji, two sets to love.They lost to Fiji duo of Inia Korowale and Sairusi Cavula, 21-16, 21-11, recording their third successive defeat after going down to Trinidad and Tobago.
