IT was an evening of party, disaster and reflections as winners of the 2022 Soca Monarch Competitions were crowded at Carnival Village in the wee hours of Thursday (Dec. 21).
Javits ‘Stadics’ Jefferson walked away with the crown in the Power Segment of the Soca Monarch Competition, as he registered 250 points in a very entertaining performance that drew the crowd’s attention and support.
His rendition, ‘Cowbell’, has been blazing the Federation’s airwaves. That song has a very catchy package which was evident at the Finals, as it beat out Mr. Bagnal’s ‘De Stage’ (241 point) and T-Bone’s ‘Home on De Streets’ (223 points).
Reflecting on his victory, Stadics told reporters that it was not easy to get there since everything did not go according to plan. He however stated that the help of God and encouragement from his fans ensured that he brought his best to the stage and walked away with the Title.
