St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Eastern Caribbean Central bank was inundated with messages of condolence, as the word spread around the region and globally, that former governor Venner had died.

The bank’s employees and management met Friday morning in a period of remembrance in tribute to Sir Dwight – with the occasion described as a deeply emotional one.

The Eastern Caribbean Monetary Council had, in recognition of his immense contribution, planned to honour him at a special ceremony at the ECCB Headquarters in St Kitts and Nevis in February.

They have confirmed that one of the buildings there was to be named in his honour.

Governor Timothy Antoine has indicated that the naming of the building will go ahead.
