ACTIVITIES for the 2022 St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival is underway and the first set of finalists have been announced for one of the major titles of the season – Soca Monarch.
Following a two-day elimination round, Saturday and Sunday, 14 artistes have qualified for the Finals of the two competitions to join the reigning Monarchs.
In the Groovy Segment, Tobap topped the list with 228 points for his ‘Festival Love’, edging out Mulley and T Bone singing ‘Can’t Cook’ by one point.
In third positions was K.O. with ‘Party Lit (200), and also qualifying for the Finals were Mr. Hype ‘Teef’ -191, Mr. Bagnall (Can;t Miss It) -188, Jezzy Sparta (Dig Out – 182, Blade (Won’t Complain) – 177, and Genesis (Wuk on Yah) with 175 points.
Noticeably absent from the list is the reigning Monarch, Niche B.
