Freedom of Information Act Gazetted, Awaiting Green Light

The Freedom of Information Act 2018 has been gazetted but the new regulations will only be activated when the Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs Vincent Byron gives the green light.On May 3, 2018, The National Assembly passed the Freedom Of Information Bill 2018. That Bill had its first reading in September 2015.

“Introduction of this new approach to the sharing of information, we anticipate that naturally there would be a period of transition and that there would be a number of issues and concerns relating to the actual implementation of the legislation. This may require us to come back to this national assembly from time to time to make appropriate adjustments.
