Health Officials Monitoring Dengue Outbreak In The Region

Local health officials in St. Kitts and Nevis are keeping a close watch on the current outbreak of Dengue Fever on several islands, including Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, and suspected cases Antigua and Barbuda in efforts to prevent any outbreak of the vector-borne disease in S. Kitts and Nevis.

Dengue fever is a painful, debilitating disease caused by any one of four dengue viruses carried by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.There have been no confirmed cases of the virus in St. Kitts and Nevis in recent time.
