Job Summary: Assists Housekeeping Manager, supervise and coordinate activities of room attendant, house attendant, inspectors and supervisor. Assist in managing and directing of the day to day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions. Participates in and enforces quality assurance for Housekeeping departmental cost control measures with efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that serving hotel guests are performed in an efficient manner

• Maintain a spotless, clean and neat facility

• Assist in staff hiring, supervision, training and development

• Ensure that hotel facilities including locker rooms, staff areas, and common areas are consistently clean, neat and fully stocked

• Ensure all Human Resource policies and employment practices are followed

• Meet budget for operating costs: labour, supplies, and linen

• Ensure that all reports are prepared completely and on time

• Take inventories as scheduled and maintain par stock with linen and stock

• Schedule associates for shifts according to projected occupancy for approval

• Ensure that proper key controls are in effect

• Follow professional and ethical guidelines when dealing with guests, associates and vendors

• Train housekeeping staff on facility, guest service standards and the basis for inspection ratings

• Ensure the use of housekeeping checklists for room and common areas

• Ensure housekeeping equipment, tools and appliances are used, operated and stored properly and safely

• Exercise the highest level of care in using chemicals used by all associates

• Follow up and resolve all guest and associates issues and concerns

• Assist in cleaning duties when assigned.

• Ensure COVID protocols are followed and maintained

• Any other duties as laid out by manager

Qualifications & Skills:

• Passion for guest service

• Computer proficiency in Windows environment (Word, Excel and RDP and or related POS applications.)

• Minimum of 1-year previous proven supervisory experience

• Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset or equivalent related customer service work experience

• Fluency in English, professional command of the language

• Strong guest service orientation and training skills background required

• Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and guest requests

• Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure

• Works independently and prioritizes responsibilities.

• Possess honesty and integrity.

• Possess a professional demeanor and hospitality personality working with fellow coworkers and the public

Physical Requirements:

• Able to write, speak, read, hear and see

• Good command of the English language, written and spoken

• Walking, kneeling, and bending

• Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.

• Standing for prolonged periods

• Working with chemicals and animals

• Working in hot conditions indoors and outdoors
