Basseterre, St. Kitts, 19th December, 2017 (– It is a landslide victory for the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) that defeated the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) four seats to one seat, in the 18th December Nevis Island Elections.

The Nevisian electorate choose to place the future of Nevis in the hands of the CCM Party, for a second term, in a party now led by Mark Brantley, who previously served under recently retired Premier Vance Amory as deputy premier.

Today, 19th December, Brantley will be swoon-in as premier of Nevis.

It was, for some, an unexpected defeat for NRP, whose lone seat captured in the elections was won by its leader, Joseph Parry, who defeated CCM’s Keith Scarborough, in the Nevis 5 St. Thomas constituency, 518 votes to 229 votes.
