National Assembly Elections Amendment Bill To Have Second Reading

The government says it will soon be heading back to parliament to have the second reading of the legislation that requires nationals to be resident in St. Kitts and Nevis for six months prior to an election to be eligible to vote.

The National Assembly Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2017 had its first reading in March 2017. Mover of the bill Attorney General, Vincent Byron while responding to WINN FM’s question on where the government is with that amendment explained that the matter is yet to have its final edits made by Cabinet.
