WITH St. Kitts and Nevis’ border scheduled to reopen on October 1, Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris is admonishing bus operators to enforce face masks requirements for passengers and themselves.

Currently, the SRO mandates the wearing of face masks in public or public spaces, but health officials have noted that citizens and residents, in one instance, have expressed concerns over two recently held parties where there were no visible signs of social distancing or the wearing of face masks.Prime Minister Harris, while addressing the official opening of the West Line Bus Terminal, charged drivers to ensure that they assist with the compliance, noting that their efforts would be supplemented by the security forces.

“No mask! There must be no entry on our means of public transport,” Dr. Harris emphasised.Complacency has stepped in, and the Police Force has warned residents that they would soon be clamping down on those found flouting the regulations by issuing them with tickets – as much as $500.
