Residents AT HMP Share Their Experiences With Teens In Observance Of 16 Days Of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

The Department of Gender Affairs in commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, reached out to three residents at Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) who shared their experiences at various high schools on the island.Vincent Foye, resident at Her Majesty’s Prison, shared his experience with a group of students at the Washington Archibald High School along with two other residents on December 7 as part of the department’s activities to observe the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.

“I among others am helping to contribute to changing their [youth] minds and behaviour into a more positive part. I will advocate for this cause, for youths to stay away from deviant behaviour,” stated Mr. Foye.Another resident, Mr. Antoine Thompson, urged the students to stay in school and choose an honest life.
