BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 12, 2020 (SKNVIBES)

The St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society has expressed its disappointment in the recent attempts made by associates of the Opposition St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party to smear the reputation of the voluntary humanitarian organization. An article published online and written by the press secretary to the former prime minister, Erasmus Williams, accused the organization of being politically influenced in the recent appointment of its new Director General.

The press statement issued by the St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society on Monday, February 10, indicated that the Society held its biennium General Assembly on 24th November 2019 during which a new Governing Board was elected to serve for the next two (2) years as prescribed in the constitution.
