Basseterre,St.Kitts December 17 2020 (SKNVIBES)

DESPITE high elbows, heavy tackles, showers of blessings and a few brawls, the S. L Hosford St. Paul’s team weathered the storm to edge out RAM’s Village Superstars 2-1 to lift the Super 6 League title last evening (Dec. 16).Watched by a near-capacity crowd at Warner Park, the skills, attacking mindset and defensive teamwork made the difference for the team from out of town.In what was a long season for both sides, it was an evenly matched game from the early exchanges.

That took the wind out of the sail of the opposing team, which played a somewhat passive game, allowing numerous scoring opportunities for St. Paul’s that went off target for the remainder of the first half, much to the joy of the partisan Village crowd at the Stadium.Spurred by their coach and with the best of three series on the line, the Basseterre-based Village team return to the field with renewed vigor and a burst of energy that saw them in the attacking mode.
