Windies women crash out of world cup following England defeat

THE West Indies ladies competing in the 2020 T20 Cricket World Cup in Australia, suffered their second consecutive defeat to bow out of the tournament after going down to England by 46 runs Sunday night.

Playing at the Sydney Showground, the ladies failed to chase down a competitive 144 for victory to keep their hopes alive to progress to the semi-finals the batting collapsed to send the English through from Group B.Batting first, England were restricted to l43 for 4 off their allotted 20 overs with  Shakera Selman removing Tammy Beaumont trapped Leg Before Wicket for a duck, then was involved in a spectacular catch to get rid of the dangerous Danni Wyatt.

By the fourteenth over, England were 90/3, but the English batters pulled it back in the last five overs with 46 runs coming from them.Nat Sciver top scored with 57 and Danni Wyatt with 29 were the stars for the english, while Selman and Anisa Mohammed both took 1/23 from their quota of four overs.
